Unfortunately, that’s about all the information we were able to find on this brand. We couldn’t find a brand website for MAC’s and there are limited independent reviews on there. The most information we could find was on ZooPlus.

What Kinds Of Cat Food Does Mac’s Offer?

What Do Customers Think Of Mac’s Cat Food?

Not only did we have a great deal of trouble finding specific information about MAC’s and their products, but we had some difficulty locating customer reviews as well. This isn’t particularly surprising given that MAC’s is a German company.

Of the reviews we found (mostly on ZooPlus), we get the sense that customers are satisfied with the quality of the food as well as its high protein content. There are some questions about certain ingredients like bananas and cranberries as well as one comment about a strange odor, but most of the reviews we saw were positive.

Let’s take a look at a few reviews from some of the most popular recipes from MAC’s.

Positive Reviews

“A good quality food with plenty of varied meat content in each pouch and free from the ingredients and additives that most other brands market and sell. The meat content is good as it includes the meat plus heart, liver, stomach and neck, giving a wider and more natural range of the animal meat protein source. MAC’s offer a good choice as a change and variety to Thrive Complete.”- Nta16 reviewing MAC’s Cat Multipack

“My cats like this, its very difficult to get such a good meat % for a reasonable price when your feeding 10 cats, of course, my Maine coons would eat felix all the time but it does them no good, but they love this and the high meat content means I am happy to feed it, though I am a little unsure why it has chunks of bananas in it.”– Andrea Abbott reviewing MAC’s Cat Saver Pack

Negative Reviews

“I used to buy MAC’s with Beef and my cat loved it! But last two months the meat in the cans is gray, smelly, lots of fat in it. From best wet food, MAC’s turn in to the worst s***e ever. What happened?”– Anna Pryzwecka reviewing MAC’s Cat 6 x 200g

Marketed for kittens, this canned food formula features turkey, beef, and duck as the primary proteins. You’ll find a nutritious blend of fresh muscle meat as well as organ meats from turkey, beef, and duck. The only other ingredient (besides mineral supplements) is carrots.

#3 Mac’s Vetcare Mono Sensitive Lamb Recipe Canned Cat Food

Buy On Zooplus

Similar to the other formulas we’ve reviewed, this canned food is made with a mixture of protein-rich muscle meat and organ meats. The main difference is that it is a single-protein recipe with lamb as a novel source of protein. This makes this formula a great option for cats with food allergies or sensitive digestion.

Aside from the animal-based ingredients, this recipe only contains carrots and mineral supplements. The carrots are likely included as a whole-food source of key vitamins, and they don’t significantly increase the overall carbohydrate content of the formula.

Overall, this appears to be a primarily meat-based canned food packed with animal-based protein and fats with very low carbohydrate content.

How Much Does MAC’s Cat Food Cost?

Pricing on MAC’s cat food may vary depending on where you live, but a 6-pack of 400g cans seems to sell for between €11 and €12. For an 18-pack of 200g cans, you’ll pay about €25.

Overall, Is Mac’s Cat Food A Good Choice?

It’s difficult to get a full impression of MAC’s cat food brand because it is a German-based company with limited information available online.

From what we can gather off the product information on ZooPlus, however, MAC’s cat food appears to offer species-appropriate nutrition for cats. Their canned foods are packed with animal protein from muscle meat and organ meats with extremely limited carbohydrate content, if any at all.

While we love the ingredients in MAC’s cat recipes, we don’t know where the ingredients are sourced or how the products are made. Take this recommendation with a grain of salt and do your own research if you live in Europe where you may have more access to information about MAC’s cat food.

Where Is Mac’s Cat Food Sold?

As a German cat food company, MAC’s seems to have limited availability in the UK but may be easier to find in other parts of Europe. ZooPlus seems to be the best place to find MAC’s cat food online.
