The story of Green Roads started in 2013 when Laura Fuentes set out on a journey to formulate high-quality CBD products. Moved by the story of a family friend who was struggling with an addiction to prescription opiates, Fuentes began formulating products after work and on weekends.

All Green Roads CBD is extracted from industrial hemp grown on American farms. These farms follow the highest standards and practices in cultivating their hemp and the CBD is extracted using the most advanced extraction technologies, including CO2 extraction. This process yields clean, broad-spectrum and full-spectrum CD oils and pure isolates.
Not only does Green Roads use the highest quality hemp, but they test all of their raw materials for pesticides, heavy metals, chemicals, and microbials to ensure safety. From there, the raw materials are transformed into Green Roads products with the help of a pharmaceutical team.
Finally, the finished goods are sent to an external lab for testing. This extra step is done “to maintain [their] commitment to providing customers with premium products.” You can find the lab test results on the Green Roads website or by scanning the QR code on the product packaging.

When it comes to their CBD pet products, Green Roads has four options, all CBD oil tinctures. One product is specifically marketed for cats – a CBD oil tincture that contains a total of 60mg CBD per bottle or about 2mg per ml. The higher concentration CBD oils are marketed for dogs of different size.
Though Green Roads only offers CBD oil for pets, they have a few other products that could potentially be adapted for pet use. They have several CBD creams, for example, which could help with skin problems or pain.

These CBD drops for cats are made with American-farmed broad-spectrum CBD. The formula is incredibly simple, made with just two ingredients, completely free from artificial colors and flavors.
This product consists of a 30ml (1fl. Oz.) bottle of CBD oil made from a combination of hemp-derived cannabinoid extract and two carrier oils – MCT oil and hemp seed oil. The full bottle contains 60mg of CBD which averages to about 2mg of CBD per ml.
We appreciate that this product is made with broad-spectrum CBD so there is 0.0mg THC. The product comes with a bottle insert and a plastic syringe that makes dosing clean and easy. Though the dosing instructions aren’t printed on the bottle, you get a paper insert that tells you how to administer the product and some general dosing guidelines.
Though this insert shows you how to measure out the CBD oil and it tells you how much oil equates to how much CBD, it doesn’t explicitly state how much to give your cat. Other brands we’ve reviewed provide a guideline based on the cat’s body weight.
This product simply says that 1ml equal about 2mg of CBD.

This product is identical to the previous except it has a higher concentration of CBD. In a 30ml bottle, it contains 210mg of CBD – about 7mg per ml.
Though this product says “For Use in Dogs Only” on the box, there doesn’t seem to be any difference in the formulation which would prevent you from using it in a cat. The thing to keep in mind is that the higher concentration of CBD might necessitate a smaller dose.
All Green Roads pet CBD products come with a plastic insert for the bottle that prevents spills during administration. It can be a little tricky pushing the insert all the way into the bottle, but once it’s in it is easy to use the syringe without spilling a drop.

Though this product is not specifically formulated for pets, it could potentially be used to relieve pain. The one ingredient to be mindful of is lavender oil – cats can sometimes be sensitive to essential oils.

Both of these products are on the higher end of the pricing spectrum among CBD brands we’ve reviewed. If you’re going to give your cat CBD, you might do better to choose the more highly concentrated Medium Dog Formula and simply reduce the dosage.

Overall, Is Green Roads A Good Choice?
Green Roads is one of the biggest CBD companies out there and they offer a wide variety of products. Most of those products are formulated for human use, though they do offer four different concentrations of CBD oil for pets and some of their products might be adaptable for pet use.
We liked that Green Roads uses broad spectrum CBD in their pet CBD oil tinctures – it minimizes the risk for intoxication with THC. These oils are incredibly simple, containing nothing more than CBD extract and two carrier oils – hemp oil and MCT oil.
We also appreciate that Green Roads is so transparent about their products including the sourcing of their CBD, their manufacturing, and their testing processes. It’s great that you can view lab test results online or by scanning the QR code on the product itself.
If you’re looking for CBD oil for your cat, Green Roads has a product that will work well. Just keep in mind that it may be a little pricier than other brands since it is only a 60mg concentration. You could also try the Medium Dog Formula to get a little more bang for your buck.
