I love your channel. Could you do a video about finding the best cat dishes/bowl/plate? I’ve tried various types with varying degrees of success. I feed my 3 cats wet food and flat plates always leave a mess so that I have to hover over them with a spoon as they eat to pile the scraps into a heap in the center or they will leave the food behind. But a bowl annoys their whiskers and they hate it. I’m trying to find just the right shape so they they don’t make a mess and don’t leave food behind in frustration.
Hi Mr. W! Thanks for stopping by. That's a great request—food dishes aren't something we've covered much on either the All About Cats site or, as you know, the channel. I wonder if a larger traditional (not flat) dish like the Harmony stainless steel dish here or Dr. Catsby bowl here would be more comfortable and help to prevent some of that messiness. Again, I've noted your request and will consider it for a future video. Your feedback and suggestions are invaluable, so thank you so much for sharing.
Thank you for the response. We bought something similarly shaped, but had to return it due to its absorbing too many odors. Material is one thing I hoped you would take into consideration when comparing. Currently all of our (sadly too flat) cat dishes are ceramic and ceramic really can’t be beat for repelling food odors (would you eat all of your meals out of reusable plastic or stainless steel plates?). I don’t know how well stainless steel would work, but their water bowls are stainless steel and it seems to work well for that. We also add water to their wet food to keep them hydrated and prevent urinary crystals, so the food can be a little soupy.
